SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) -- Two former high school band color guard members have sued a South Carolina school district and a former band director, saying they were sexually harassed.
Multiple media outlets reported Wednesday that the former Chapman High School students say the school district and band booster club were negligent in failing to protect them.
The lawsuit accuses former band director Thomas Khoe of sexual harassment and inappropriate conduct.
Khoe pleaded guilty July 6 to two counts of aggravated assault and battery and no contest to a third charge. He was sentenced to four years' probation.
School District 1 Superintendent Jimmy Littlefield said the lawsuit has been sent to the school board's insurance trust.
Khoe did not immediately return a phone call Wednesday seeking comment.
