Monday night Charles Curry, the county administrator, was fired.
Dillon County officials hope to name an interim administrator by the first of next week, until then they won't be able to pay the county's bills.
Monday night, four of the seven Dillon County council members upheld their vote to fire Charles Curry as the county administrator.
Council chairman Harold Moody says the county has a council administrator form of government, and because they haven't passed a budget yet, state law requires two signatures on any county checks to pay bills.
Moody says the signatures have to be his and the administrator's.
He's hoping to hire an interim administrator in the coming days so the county can conduct business.
