Governor Mark Sanford has once again addressed his extra-marital affair, this time, not only apologizing, but also highlighting the lessons he's learned and how he plans to move forward.
After admitting last month that he'd had an affair with an Argentine woman. Sunday, an opinion piece was published in state newspapers, authored by Sanford.
The governor wrote that God is helping to change him and that he will emerge from this incident a more humble and effective leader.
Sanford continued, saying he has been broken like never before in his life and that he feels he has attended his own funeral. But, the governor added, he's "thankful for the perspective it has afforded."
Sanford also vowed to work with state lawmakers that he has long fought.
