Jury selection began Monday in the trial of a 19-year-old Myrtle Beach man facing a murder charge in the death of a homeless man.

In March of 2006, 51-year-old Steven Walsh was beaten in the woods off of Highway 501 in Horry County, just outside Myrtle Beach.

Walsh died 9 days later at a local hospital.

Bilal Harris, who was 16 at the time, was arrested and charged as an adult in Walsh's death.

Solicitors expect opening statements in Harris' trial to begin Tuesday.
