Police now have more information about a beating that left a Marion man in critical condition.

Lieutenant Farmer Blue tells NewsChannel 15 the 36-year-old victim was attacked by a man and hit in the head with a lead pipe.

It happened at Thomas Mobile Home Park off of Highway 76 in the city limits of Marion Wednesday night.

Blue says it appears the victim was trying to break up a fight.

Police hope to solve this case in a few days and find the person who attacked the victim.
