High taxes and wasteful government spending were on the minds of many in Myrtle Beach Saturday evening.
At the Market Common, scores of people gathered from the Myrtle Beach Tea Party to rally in support of a couple of basic ideas: lower taxes, less government spending.
The protesters hope this rally and others like it, will be the spark that ignites people around the country.
"It's time to stop being silent. We've got to stand up for what we believe in. We've got to take america back," said Sylvia Comiskey, a Myrtle Beach Tea Party member.
Tea bags were the symbol of the day, as protesters made a historical connection to the Boston Tea Party. Food donations were also taken for local charities.
