Israeli citizen, 33-year-old Oren Ayash who was living in Myrtle Beach, pled guilty in federal court to unlawfully re-entering the United States, and possession of a firearm by an illegal alien.

Ayash is an Israeli citizen who illegally re-entered the United States after being removed in July 2004.

Ayash was located by federal authorities last April in Myrtle Beach. His residence was searched, and a 9mm Glock pistol and ammunition were found.

United States District Judge R. Bryan Harwell will sentence Ayash at a later date.

The maximum penalty Ayash can receive is a fine of $250,000 and 10 years in prison. He faces deportation after serving any prison time imposed.

The case was investigated by agents of the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Assistant United States Attorney William E. Day, II of the Florence office handled the case.
