Some federal money is on its way to build new bridges on a busy Horry County road.
The state DOT is getting $300,000 to replace five bridges on Red Bluff Road where it crosses the Waccamaw Swamp.
The money comes from the Federal Highway Administration and is the only grant of its kind in the state.
Officials say some bridge components will be manufactured off-site to minimize the amount of time the road has to be closed for construction.
