The steel mill in Georgetown is no longer running, and officials don't know when it will start back up.

Steelworkers Union President, James Sanderson says some workers remain in the Arcelor-Mittal Plant, shipping out the rest of the steel, while others are cleaning up.

The company says it has to shut the mill because the recession has diminished the need for steel.

Sanderson says union members rejected a proposal from the company to take a $3.65/hour pay cut and work just 24 hours a week during slow periods.
