A pool party in Florence ended tragically Friday afternoon. 37 year old John Billy Matthews, Jr. drowned in a backyard pool at a home on Graham Street in Florence.
The Florence County Deputy Coroner Don Reynolds says friends started looking for Matthews and that's when they found him in the pool. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
