For the second year in a row, the gay and lesbian community will hold a Pride Festival in Myrtle Beach.
The festival is a chance for the gay community to unite to fight discrimination. The festival returned last year after a ten year absence.
Organizer Chris Stephens, of The Center Project, says this year there's a special focus.
"This year we're celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall riots in New York, which sparked the gay rights movement across the nation. And that's what pride is about. It's intended to be a day of celebration for people to come out and be who they are without fear of intimidation or harm."
The festival will be held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Train Depot in Myrtle Beach.
