After several days of speculation, the woman that Governor Mark Sanford admitted to having an affair with has come forward and acknowledged having the relationship with the governor.
41 year old Maria Belen Chapur of Argentina sent a statement to a news network in Buenos Aires, Argentina, saying she will not talk about her private life, but admitted that the email exchanges that were widely broadcasted and published were in fact hers.
Chapur claims that someone hacked into her email account to access the emails. She says the person who she believes hacked into her account is not a friend of hers, but she refuses to identify him for legal reasons.
Chapur says she will not make anymore comments on the matter.
