South Carolina's U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham addressed Governor Mark Sanford's affair with a woman from Argentina Sunday, saying that Sanford still has the chance to do good things for the Palmetto State.
Graham says if Sanford can reconcile with his wife and family, then they should be able to move passed this and focus on the affairs of the state.
On a Sunday morning talk show, Graham did not say if he thought Sanford should keep his job or step down.
"I've talked to Jenny Sanford and the one thing I can tell you is that Mark Sanford is lucky to have Jenny and I hope he realizes that and I think he does. Their four boys -- let's just pray Mark and Jenny get back together. Second chances are not deserved or required but if they ever get them they can be a blessing. I hope Mark gets one with his family and with the voters," said Graham.
Senator Graham is the Godfather of Sanfords' youngest child.
