A man fell from a third floor balcony Sunday morning in Myrtle Beach and died a short time later.
Myrtle Beach police say 46-year-old Charles Rees of Weaverville, NC tried to climb from his balcony to the one next door at the Holiday South on Ocean Boulevard. Instead he slipped and fell onto the pool deck.
Detectives say the man had been drinking but was not intoxicated.
He had family staying in the room over, but that door was locked so he attempted to get to their balcony.
