Thompson Heating and Air is partnering with the Horry County Council on Aging to collect donations of air conditioning units and fans for elderly individuals in the Myrtle Beach area. Thompson Heating and Air has also agreed to assist in installing those units once collected. At least 300 units are needed.
The Horry County Council on Aging is requesting donations of new or slightly used window air conditioning units. The Horry County Council on Aging is also accepting fans as well as monetary donations that can be used to purchase units.
Air conditioning units and fan donations should be taken to Thompson Heating and Air located at 705 Seaboard Street, Myrtle Beach between 8:00am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. If pickup assistance is needed to collect air conditioning units, please call 843-946-7447. Thompson can also pick up new units that are purchased by individuals at any local hardware store.
Monetary donations can also be taken to the Horry County Council of Aging located at 2213 North Main Street, Conway or Thompson Heating and Air at 705 Seaboard Street, Myrtle Beach.
"Even though we are now in our busy season for Thompson Heating and Air, we recognize the urgent need to help those elderly individuals in our community who do not have the means to purchase air conditioning," said Jim Passaretti, Thompson Heating and Air.
