The cause of a deadly house fire in Dillon County is under investigation. Early Monday morning, a home on Legare Street in Latta caught fire.
Deputies say a man was inside and appears to have died in the fire. His next door neighbor awakened to the sound of the fire trucks.
"I didn't think he was in there. I thought knowing him, he's very alert for everything. I thought he'd got out," said James Graham, neighbor.
State arson investigators are helping in the investigation.
The victim's name will be released as soon as his family is notified.
