A Hartsville High School football standout wants to make sure he isn't being confused with one of the murder suspects.
17-year-old Deandre Scott shares a very similar name and is the same age as Dondra Scott, and they're both from Darlington County.
This week, his family got dozens of calls from people confusing him with Dondra.
Dondra is accused in the murder of an 83-year-old veteran, among other crimes.
Deandre, who goes by "Dre" says he spent his teenage years building a good reputation in his community and he wants it to stay that way.
"It's very important because I really want to go to college and I don't want that to bring or ruin my career of going to college," said Deandre.
Dre says he's being recruited by several top colleges in the southeast, and he's really hoping the similar names won't cause him any problems.
