On Tuesday, Myrtle Beach City Council approved a new city budget for the next fiscal year.

It includes a 1.5 mil property tax credit. That will save about $12 a year in taxes for an average house.

The budget also includes funding for a new boardwalk that was approved last year, but delayed due to bonding issues.

Officials say construction on the the $12 million boardwalk, which will run from about 1st Avenue South to the 14 Avenue Pier, should start in July and be finished by next June.
