Two people from Loris died in a head-on collision late Friday night, each just miles from their homes. The wreck happened on Red Bluff Road, about seven miles east of Loris.

South Carolina Highway Patrol reports a 30-year-old driving a Ford SUV crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a minivan. A mother and her daughter were in the van.

The woman -- 44-year-old Angie Lou Mcdowell Pridgen -- died on scene. Her 13-year-old daughter was taken to a hospital, and her condition has not been released.

30-year-old Brandon Humphreys was driving the SUV that crossed the center line and also died on scene.
