Name of teenage drowning victim released

The search for a missing 16-year-old from Conway came to a sad end in Myrtle Beach Tuesday morning.

Myrtle Beach police say a lifeguard spotted the body of Troy Southern between 9th and 11th avenues just after 9am.

The coroner's office says the teen drowned.

Southern's friends saw him go underwater Sunday.

The Coast Guard, Myrtle Beach police, and SLED searched for him Sunday and Monday.
