(AP) -- Two groups in South Carolina are getting together to discuss brain injury.

The Brain Injury Alliance of South Carolina and the South Carolina Brain Injury Leadership Council are hosting a two-day state conference beginning Thursday in Columbia. The conference will feature two keynote speeches on mild traumatic brain injury and retraining memory for survivors of brain injury. There will also be advice for relatives of people with traumatic injury.

Breakout sessions will focus on basic knowledge about brain injury, where memories go and how to get them back, work re-entry options and foundations for interaction with those with brain injuries.

Other topics include art therapy, service dog assistance and navigating work opportunities.
