Horry County Police say Arthur Stanley, from North Carolina, was arrested in connection with a police chase Sunday night.
Horry County Police say when they tried to pull Stanley over for something Columbus County, NC authorities warned them to be on the lookout for, he sped up and kept going.
They say another officer who was putting down stop-sticks was nearly hit by Stanley.
The chase ended on Highway 9 after a short foot chase.
Stanley is charged with failure to stop for blue lights and siren, assault and battery with intent to kill on a police officer, and assault and battery on a police officer while resisting arrest.
