Law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice were honored Thursday in Conway.

The Fraternal Order of Police, Coastal Carolina Lodge 12 held a memorial service for fallen officers at the Law Enforcement Memorial in Conway.

Horry County Sheriff Phillip Thompson says today is about making sure fallen officers aren't forgotten.

"It's a good day for us to come and see members of the family and members of our law enforcement family who knew these folks so well and to have a day of remembrance like this."

Three officers died on the job in South Carolina in 2008.

Their names were added to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers Hall of Fame in Columbia.
