Tuesday, April 28th, the Grand Strand's local media community will come together to raise money to help support those affected by the Horry County wildfire.
We'll be at the Myrtle Beach Mall parking lot (formerly Colonial Mall) at 10177 North Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach as soon as Highway 17 is back open. The fundraiser goes until 7pm Tuesday evening. NewsChannel 15 will be there through our 7pm newscast.
All proceeds will benefit the Coastal South Carolina Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Only monetary donations will be accepted.
In 2005, we held a similar event, the Total Media Relief Effort for victims of Hurricane Katrina. We raised $270,000! A year later, we held Total Media Relief Two on the fifth anniversary of 9-11, raising $26,000 for victims of house and apartment fires.
Now, we're asking for your help again, as we ban together to help those devastated by the Horry County wildfire.
