A house fire in the South Carolina upstate left two children dead and their mother and two other siblings hospitalized.

In Greenwood, South Carolina authorities are investigating the fire that killed a three-year old boy and his four-year old sister.

Their mother and two other siblings, a 12-year-old and a one-year-old were air lifted to the Still Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia where they're in critical condition.

Neighbors describe what they saw as the ordeal unfolded. The cause of the fire hasn't been determined and SLED has been called in to help.

Authorities say the home did not have smoke detectors.
