Wellman Incorporated could reopen its fiber and bottling recycling business in Johnsonville, and that could mean dozens of new jobs.

In October, Wellman sold its Johnsonville plant to a private investor group.

The group still operates the recycled nylon division out of the plant and employs about 160 workers.

In 2006, Wellman closed it's fiber and bottling recycling divisions at the Johnsonville site.

A plant manager tells us Wellman is considering reopening a portion of those divisions, but must determine if business conditions are right.

The manager says if everything works out, they could re-start the operations by the end of this year.
