The community of McColl in Marlboro County is mourning the loss of a public servant.
Relatives say Jackie Scott died Friday morning.
He served as the McColl police chief, the warden of the county jail and on the Marlboro County school board for many years.
He's credited with doing great things to improve the community.
Jackie Scott was 69 years old.
