Monday, Harvest Hope Food Bank gave out hundreds of boxes of food to families in need in Florence.
Several hundred people stood in line at the Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ for the food.
The organization gave away more than 300 boxes filled with canned goods and fruits.
People expressed thanks to Harvest Hope for helping them during hard times.
"People don't have food in their house and stuff, and they can't provide for themselves," said Angel Williamson of Florence.
"There are people with hard times. It doesn't make a difference what economic background they come from," said Reverend Henry Beatty, Jr., Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ.
Harvest Hope volunteers also took applications from people to help them receive more food in the future.
