Low-income moms and their babies will get better health care in Horry County, thanks to a grant handed out Friday.

The Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation handed over a check for nearly $1.4 million to create the nurse-family partnership program.

That will provide home nursing visits to first time mothers and their babies, through the child's second year.

The program will target 100 low income families in Horry County.
