MBPD announces warrant for murder suspect
Myrtle Beach Police have issued a warrant for 38-year-old Bruce Olen Underwood on the charge of murder.
They say Underwood also goes by the name "Buttermilk." Police say he is 5'11", weighs about 170 pounds, is bald, and has blue eyes. He is believed to be homeless.
In a release about Underwood, police said he should be considered dangerous and should be approached with caution.
They say he may be with a man who goes by the name "Alabama," who is also wanted by Myrtle Beach Police.
They say Alabama has a tattoo of the Ace of Spades on his left arm and a reaper style tattoo on his right shoulder.
The body of George Pennell, 61, was found in a wooded area off Highway 15 between 5th Avenue South and Boundary Street the morning of February 19th. Police say Underwood is wanted in connection with that case.
Detectives say another homeless man was found nearby badly hurt and was taken to the hospital. He survived.
An autopsy was done on Pennell, but the results are not being released yet.
