A diet is not just something to help you lose weight - the right diet can help you live a healthy life.

Tuesday, officials at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center's South Strand campus had some ideas to help women make health food changes.

Dieticians talked about some simple changes women can make to promote a healthier lifestyle.

They say making healthy choices aren't as difficult as you may think.

"Mostly they want to get away with as much as they can, and that's fine. I'll let them know because you don't want to sit there and tell them everything they can't do, because they're not going to do it. You have to let them know its easy and its do-able and you have to tell them what they can have, and not just what they can't," said Kelly Snow, a registered dietician.

Officials also talked about the importance of a healthy diet in reducing the risk for heart disease, stroke and diabetes.
