We've done dozens of stories about the increased need for food as more and more people lose their jobs. Now a church on the Grand Strand is doing something about it.
Seaside Community Church in Murrells Inlet opened a food pantry Monday.
The pantry will stock all sorts of household items people might need in addition to food - like pet items, diapers, and cleaning supplies.
"We don't ask a lot of questions. It's embarrassing enough for the people, for a lot of the people to come in and ask for help. We don't want that. We want to help them without any stigma whatsoever associated with the food pantry," said Jim Redick with Seaside Community Church.
Seaside Community Church is located on Highway 17 in Murrells Inlet next to Goldfinch Funeral Home on Frontage Road.
Their phone number is 843-651-5445 if you need help or want to donate items.
