Some people living on Horry County's South Strand had a chance to see what their roadways might look like in a few years.
The Department of Transportation put on a public meeting for people to check out the proposed interchange at Highway 17 Bypass and Glenn's Bay Road around Surfside Beach.
The project would also include a widening of the road.
Earsula Yelenovic, a property owner in the area, told NewsChannel 15 what she thought the area needs.
"On Glenn's Bay Road right now, there are no sidewalks and it's only a lot of curbs. There's not even any paved space to walk along the side. It's an accident waiting to happen. I'm hoping they can have sidewalks," she said.
The project is expected to be funded through Horry County's Ride II Capital Local Option Sales Tax program.
