The childhood home of Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke has sold after being in foreclosure in Dillon County.

The house where Bernanke grew up is on East Jefferson Street in the city limits of Dillon.

His family sold the property years ago, but went into foreclosure last year after its former owners could no longer afford it.

27-year-old Travis Jackson bought the home and says it seems surreal.

"It's an awesome experience just to live in the same property that Ben lived in. Sorry that the house was in foreclosure, but we do appreciate the opportunity to have a nice house for me and my future wife to live in," said Travis Jackson, of Dillon.

Jackson says he paid about $83,000 for the house and says he still has a little painting to do, before they move in.
