Jobless people in Horry County have a new place to go to look for work and pick up their unemployment checks.
Monday, the Employment Security Commission opened a satellite office in Myrtle Beach to help people avoid long lines at the main office in Conway.
Only a few people used the new office Monday, but officials say that's OK because it gave them a chance to work out some of the bugs in the computer system.
The new office has most of the same services as the Conway office.
"We have capability to do the job search here. They can file their unemployment claims. We have the resume program that's installed on all the computers, there's a type in program that's installed," said Doris Buffkin, SC Employment Security Commission.
Buffkin says she expects the new office to get busier every day.
The office is located at Magnolia Town Centre, Suite 144, 9714 North King's Highway, Myrtle Beach.
Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
