An autopsy Wednesday morning indicates Russell Mark Skipper, 44, who was pulled from a car submerged in the Intracoastal Waterway, died from drowning.

The car crashed through the gates at the South Island Ferry Landing in Georgetown County, sometime before 6:00 p.m. Monday evening.

The car wasn't removed from the water until Tuesday morning.

Highway Patrol is treating the case as a car accident.
