It's the final countdown, and people are buying HDTV's just in time for Super Bowl 43.
Myrtle Beach Best Buy managers can hardly keep them in stock, but that may be against the norm this year.
When you're making a big buy like an HDTV, Ryan Page knows timing is everything.
"The economy, it seems like hard times, it brought down prices on TVs and you can get some really good deals out there," said Page.
But for Best Buy customers, their timely purchase is all about the game clock.
"Super Bowl, yes, definitely," said Karen Ritz.
Super Bowl Sunday traditionally sparks a spike in electronic sales. However this year, with this economy, the National Retail Federation predicts fewer people will buy before the big game, and cut down on party favors like food and team merchandise.
Nine million more people, though, will watch the big game, some, on a big TV.
Less than half of the people that tune in do it to watch the actual game, but more than 25% say the most important part is the commercials. Most say the ads are entertaining, although just 6% say they're influenced to buy the products.
But why-ever you watch and whatever you watch it on, grab the remote. The countdown to kickoff is on.
The NRF says in all, shoppers will spend $9.6 billion for the game, and an expected 167 million adults will watch the Super Bowl this year.
