On this Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, his life is being celebrated across the nation.

The city of Myrtle Beach held a parade Monday morning.

It started at the Chapin Library.

People marched down neighborhood streets, chanting, celebrating unity and peace.

"A dream come true in these days and times we have found out that equality can happen. It all can happen," said Betty Richardson.

"We broke a lot of barriers when this day began and it started off a dream, and now it's reality," said Tyrone Murphy.

The parade ended at the Myrtle Beach Colored School where speakers addressed the group.
