Richard and Hannah Lawhon
On Saturday, a father found his daughter and her husband shot to death in their home.
By Sunday night, police say they think the man shot his wife several times, before turning the gun on himself.
Around 5:30pm Sunday, police told NewsChannel 15 the autopsies seem to indicate the man shot his wife several times, then shot himself.
But, they said they're still looking into forensic evidence, and neighbors say they're still in shock.
Richard 'Richie' Lawhon, 30, just eloped in October with his high school sweetheart, 30-year-old Hannah Jarvis Lawhon.
Their Facebook pages show they cheered at football games, loved the beach, and friends said they were happy with each other.
But that happiness was short lived.
Saturday, police said Hannah's father found them shot to death inside their Mount Gilead Place home.
On Sunday, people in their quiet Murrells Inlet neighborhood are still mourning.
"I went to church today and I prayed that everything would be okay in our neighborhood," said Dorothy Oakley, a neighbor.
"You did feel creepy walking into your house hoping...I didn't want it to be a murder-suicide, but I also didn't want it to be a break-in so either way was just bad," another neighbor told NewsChannel 15.
Daphne King lived across from Richie for at least five years and said he was the perfect neighbor.
"I could knock on his door, 'Hey, can you help me with this?' 'Yeah, sure.' I never felt like I couldn't knock on his door," King said.
Now when she walks out of her house and sees that door she'll only think of the tragedy that went on behind it.
"It's just so sad, you know, that people come to that, it's just so sad," she told NewsChannel 15.
She said the couple was friendly and always seemed happy together.
But, Sunday night police say they are investigating the case as a murder-suicide.
They tell NewsChannel 15 there were no signs of forced entry or any items missing from the home.
