With the temperatures so low New Year's Eve, the men and women in uniform braved the cold to keep drunk drivers off the road.

The New Year's holiday is one of the busier nights for law enforcement, traditionally a big drinking night.

All law enforcement agencies, especially Highway Patrol will be out in full force through the weekend.

Additional troopers have brought in to conduct license checks for their saturation patrols which is a lot of troopers in a small area and pull people over for even minor infractions.

Police plea every year to stop drinking and driving yet some people continue to do it.

Highway Patrol started their checks early Wednesday afternoon.
