Janice Ash Sialiano received "The Order of the Silver Crescent" - South Carolina's highest award for volunteer and community service. Janice's daughter Carmen and her parents, Doris Smith and the late Kenneth Smith, were also recognized for their 20 years of dedication to organizing the annual dinner.

"I don't know what else I would do. This is what christmas is all about to me and my whole family. I wouldn't know what else to do if we weren't doing this," said Sialiano.

Janice says they began volunteering back in 1989, after Hurricane Hugo. She recalled, that volunteering experience sparked her and her family's commitment to helping others.
