COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina's former state treasurer will have his passport back when he completes a prison sentence on federal cocaine charges.
The order signed Monday by U.S. District Judge Joseph F. Anderson Jr. directs court officials to return Thomas Ravenel's passport to his last known address.
Ravenel surrendered his passport as a condition of his bond. The 46-year-old real estate developer resigned after six months as state treasurer after his 2007 indictment. He pleaded guilty last year to conspiracy to distribute cocaine.
Earlier this month, Ravenel was moved from a federal work camp in Jesup, Ga., to an Atlanta halfway house.
He is scheduled to complete his 10-month total sentence in March.
