The case of an abandoned baby boy in Horry County is reminiscent of a similar case in Marlboro County that remains unsolved to this day.

Three years ago, sanitation workers found the body of an newborn girl in their dump truck at the Marlboro County landfill.

Police never found the baby's parents.

The workers were raking through garbage in a dump truck, when they discovered the infant's body.

Police named her Jane Doe.

They believe she was carried to full term, weighing nearly eight pounds.

Marlboro County Sheriff Fred Knight said the case is still open, and if any new information develops he will actively investigate it.
