Most retailers are pleased with the turnout over the Black Friday weekend.
The National Retail Federation predicted there would be fewer shoppers this Black Friday holiday, but it actually turned out to be busier than last year, with 172 million shoppers.
The National Retail Federation says bargains and demand on electronics boosted the weekend sales.
Coastal Grand Mall reports it was busy all weekend.
"I think there was a lot of uncertainty out there with the election and gas prices, and now the election is over with and gas prices have come down and it was a good weekend," said Deb Bramlett with Coastal Grand Mall. "The merchants are really happy. Our shoppers were happy when they were here, so I think all in all it was good."
The National Retail Federation says on average, each consumer bought almost $400 dollars worth of merchandise, up seven percent from last year.
