For many sports fans in the Palmetto State, Saturday was the most anticipated day of the year, thanks to Clemson taking on USC.
Crowds packed local bars and restaurants, to cheer on their Tigers and Gamecocks. In talking with fans at Buffalo Wild Wings in Carolina Forest who were watching the two rivals battle, NewsChannel 15 found that for many here in South Carolina, this game is more than just a game.
"It's a pretty big deal for me and it's a pretty big deal for my family also, and a lot of my friends from high school, half of them go to Clemson and half of them go to USC, so it's fun," said Lauren Alexander as she sported a Clemson jersey.
"There's in-state rivalries in every state in the country. This one seems to be bigger," said Joe Young, a USC fan.
