Stores are getting ready for Black Friday, but one of the busier shopping days of the year could take a hit because of the economy.

The National Retail Federation expects fewer people will shop this weekend and surveys show people plan to spend less. Plus there's a question of what they'll spend their hard earned cash on.

With just two days before one of the busier shopping holidays, people are scoping out sales.

"I have four grandbabies, so I have a lot of shopping to do, so I hope to find some great deals on Friday," said Queen Gaymon.

Inside Best Buy, workers move displays and set out stock to prepare for the big rush.

"We try to lay it out as best as possible so customers can come in, get what they need, then get out and be about their way," said Marcus McNair, Best Buy.

McNair predicts gaming systems will be one of the hot sellers.

But this the current faltering economy, some shoppers will skip over the games, computers and flat screens and head for counter tops and pots and pans to purchase more practical gifts.

"Clothes and footwear," said shopper Kathryn Gonzalas. "I'm staying away from CDs and entertainment type items."

Still, the National Retail Federation expects some deals to be so good, people just can't pass them up.

Some shoppers, like Gaymon, saved money early and plan to splurge. Gaymon said she plans to buy a home theater system.

"I think I'd like to try to upgrade my current TV system and get something really special."

McNair wasn't concerned and thinks a lot of people will still buy electronics from Best Buy.

The National Retail Federation expects 128 million people will shop this weekend, down from 135 million last year.
