With the cold temperatures, our furry friends need help to keep warm as well.
The Grand Strand Humane Society is collecting blankets for their shelter.
They have about 80 dogs that are temporarily staying in cages with concrete floors before being adopted.
But with the mercury dropping, the floor keeps getting colder and colder.
To help the dogs stay warm, shelter workers are laying down donated blankets.
They need at least 140 blankets but will take as many as they can collect.
"We've had an awesome amount of people come in with blankets, it's pretty amazing to watch your community come in and give you stuff when you need it," said Heather Perkins, Director of Operations.
Residents can drop off blankets at the Humane Society till Friday, November 28th.
The shelter is located at 3241 Mr. Joe White Avenue in Myrtle Beach.
