Santee Cooper is looking for ways to produce a cleaner form of energy in South Carolina, and they think wind might be the answer..

Tuesday, they installed a 60-foot pole at Georgetown High School with sensors to measure wind speed, direction and frequency.

Students will actually download and help analyze the data collected from the Georgetown High tower.

Santee Cooper says the coast is the only area of the state that has a strong wind source: the ocean.

Santee Cooper has plans to install another until in the near future at Coastal Carolina University.
