There is still no positive identification on a body found behind a vacant building in Florence.
The deputy coroner says it could be a few days before they know the identity.
Police say it is possible the body is of a missing woman named, Janie Mae Dixon.
Dixon's sister, Joyce Walling of Florence, says her mother is barely eating, and none of them can really sleep. She says her sister's disappearance, and now the waiting has taken a toll on their family.
Walling has taken lots of long walks in recent weeks. They help ease her mind over her sister's sudden disappearance.
Janie Mae Dixon, 35, has not been seen since September 8th.
" Did a lot of crying. Lot of praying, and a lot of searching," said Walling.
On Tuesday afternoon, she received news that police had found a body behind an empty building on West Evans Street.
Walling went to the scene, and one thought went through her mind.
" Oh my God, please don't let it be her," she said.
The body was so decomposed police could not determine the race or gender.
Walling says until they know something for sure, the family will just pray for the best.
Thursday is Janie Mae Dixon's 36th birthday.
Police are treating the case as a homicide.
