Gene's Country Store in Georgetown sold gas for $2.15/gallon, Friday. When was the last time you saw that?
Friday, it was the most popular place in Georgetown. People showed up from all over the Grand Strand, just to see if the rumor was true.
Gas at Gene's Country Store sold for $2.15 a gallon.
As cars started getting backed up at Gene's, James Malott, a part-timer at the store, started directing traffic.
"Just trying to control the chaos."
Even people from Myrtle Beach went out of their way to wait in line, a line that rarely looked like it was getting any shorter.
One of those waiting in line, was Toni Pennington.
"There's a lot of people who want to cash in on this right now"
As cars waited, the question on everyone's mind, "Will they run out?"
James Malott was reassuring, "We have steady shipments coming in."
The overall average for a gallon of gas in our area continues to fall.
